The Black Box G1W-H Review

The new budget friendly dash cam model from the well known brand, Black Box, is our pick of the day for detailed review. The latest Black Box G1W-H is an upgraded version for the company’s hot selling model G1W.

The device comes with identical specification of its predecessor, with a slightly wider angle recording. The suffix H in the model name denotes the ‘Hidden’, emphasizing its complete black, discreet design.

The G1W-H also powered with Novatek NT96650 Chipset for smoother HD video processing. Its 160 wide angle Aptina AR0330 Lens with 3M CMOS Sensor records full HD 1080p resolution videos @ 30 FPS. Recorded video quality on this full HD dash camera looks sharp with full color details, as we have seen in other Black Box products. The device can also be set to record 720P videos at 60 FPS, to save SD card space. By default, the device will overwrite the oldest recordings in case of low memory.

This model is also comes with built-in G sensor to sense the car’s motion and automatically start/stop the recording. The sensors also assists in safeguarding the recorded media in case of accidental impacts on the device. The G1W-H supports 32GB SD card, which has to be bought separately.

Other features in the Black Box G1W-H is almost identical to the G1W model. With an additional 20 USD, the company is offering a discreetly mountable HD dash camera. If you’re not looking for this feature, we recommend you to buy G1W model, which is equally good.
