Pioneer definitely understands the market needs, offering series of high-quality car electronics at wide price range is just an example of it. Pioneer AVIC-5100NEX, the mid-range model in latest AVIC series sports 6.2″ WVGA Touchscreen LCD display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. From my experience the pixels per inch is not the only factor that decides the quality of display. Though the screen is not HD, the display looks bright and vivid, and pixelation is hard to notice.

The Pioneer AVIC-5100NEX has built-in navigation system powered by HERE®. Loaded with approx. 7.9 million Points-of-Interest (POIs) covering US, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Puerto Rico. The navigation system comes with useful features like Lane Information, Speed Limit & Warnings, Voice Guidance with Street Names. The device comes with 8GB internal flash memory for storing map data.

The device is capable of audio/video playback from CD/DVD and USB flash drives. The AVIC-5100NEX can read common video formats including MPEG-4, AVI and Divx from CD/DVD. It also plays photo slideshows from USB thumb drives. The device is built-in with AM/FM tuner with 18 FM, 6 AM presets. The model is SiriusXM-Ready™ and capable of SiriusXM tuner upgrade.

Thanks to its Smartphone Integration technology that supports Apple CarPlay™, Android™ Music Support, Voice Control and Pandora. Overall, the Pioneer AVIC-5100NEX meets most of the market requirements and priced to attract more market share.
